Ezekiel 33:6 "But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn  the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of them, that man will be taken away because of his sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood"

What if tomorrow begins as every other day but something horrific happens and your world is changed,  maybe FOREVER. If you've come to this site you've had an awakening moment, whether it was a sudden revelation or  a gradual  realization  you know  SOMETHING is coming! You feel it deep in your heart, you know something is wrong and you need to prepare. If you're like me you're not really sure what to prepare for but the urgency to be ready is getting stronger each day. Though we don't know what to prepare for there are some basic principles that will apply whether you are facing storm damage and  power outages.... an economic collapse.... or even war and your country as you know it is changed? Do you know how to prepare to  survive  for  two weeks....a month.....a year?  Not only do you need to be physically prepared, more importantly  you need to be spiritually prepared.

                  WATER

The most important thing you need to survive any kind off disaster is water. A person can survive without water for only three days.  Therefore it is imperative that you have one gallon, two is better, of water for each person in your household per day.  At the very minimum you should store enough water to  meet your family's needs for two weeks. This will insure that while others are desperate and seeking  ways to meet this need your family is prepared.

                                                                                                                                                                            FOOD

Most people only have three days' worth of food in their pantry, which means that after three days they are at the mercy of the government or Red Cross to  supply this basic need. Usually during an emergency power is disrupted so it is essential to have foods that are  easy to prepare. Store items that have a long shelf life and are easy to cook on a outdoor BBQ or camp stove. Be sure to have extra fuel (charcoal, propane etc.) for your  stove. Stock foods that your family  normally uses and plan meals that meet basic nutritional requirements.

SHELTER

If you are able to stay in your home after a disaster strikes  more than likely the power is out and you have no way to heat your home. Depending on the time of year and where you live your home could get dangerously cold.  To ensure your survival you need to have plenty of warm clothes; jackets, hats, scarves, , thermal socks and gloves etc. Be sure to have plenty of wool blankets and enough sleeping bags for each person. If you have a fireplace or wood stove keep plenty of wood on hand. You might want to invest in an indoor propane heater but use caution as they can be very dangerous. Be sure to have a carbon monoxide detector to ensure your family isn't overcome by this odorless gas and keep a window cracked to let in fresh air.

                                                                                                                                                                               STRENGTH

Picture
In  a moment your world is turned upside  down. When disaster strikes where do you  get the strength to go on and do the things that need to be done. As a Christian  I believe that our strength comes from the Lord Jesus
Christ. I would encourage  you to read your Bible and let Gods Word take root in your heart. Memorize  scriptures that encourage and empower you. Take to heart the promises of  protection, provision and peace that
He has given us in His Word.

Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
